| Awakening or Apostasy? Sheep or Wolves? Revival or Ruin? |
Almost thirty years later, I can see the gutless, meaningless, anything-goes, do-as-you-please so-called "Christianity" that has evolved from those days.
I have to agree with them that the TRUE GOSPEL is answering questions that NOBODY IS ASKING. But that is not the GOSPEL'S PROBLEM. That is the PEOPLE'S PROBLEM.
It is an evil reality that this generation DOES NOT ASK FOR TRUTH. They LOVE THE LIES that allow them to do as they please. When TRUTH is preached, they repel and rebel. They DESPISE being told that they can't do this or they can't do that. They turn their ears away. They reject and even rebel against Truth. They want to believe whatever they want to believe, and don't want to be bothered with BIBLICAL REALITIES. They pick and choose the sweet verses and throw out the sour verses of the Bible.
They want unlimited space to go to ball games, movies, concerts of any kind - and they want a Church that will either APPROVE, or keep its mouth shut about it. They want to dress any way they good and well please, and defy anyone to say anything about it. They do not want ANY BIBLICAL or GODLY input on how they dress, where they go, who they hang out with, or how they consume their time, energies and efforts. They want to DO AS THEY PLEASE, and CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS.
Well, it just does not work that way. I have read the Bible dozens of times, and have never seen a Church even remotely like that in the Bible. It is just downright wrong. Their DOCTRINES are wrong. Their STANDARDS are wrong. Their LIFESTYLES are wrong.
Christianity has been hijacked by unbelievers, and make no mistake about it - this is NOT another "Great Awakening." Anyone who foolishly believes that Christianity is experience a Great Awakening is among the most deluded people on earth.
It's not a Great Awakening. It is a great Falling Away.
These are not sheep. They are wolves.
This is not revival. It is ruin.
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; ...Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:3, 9-12.
There is only ONE true Church in the Bible. It teaches and preaches the Oneness of God. It preaches all the doctrines and teachings of the Apostles. It follows the patterns of the Early Church in Acts 2. It preaches the plan of salvation introduced by Jesus and Peter in Luke 24:47, John 3:3-7, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:38 and Hebrews 12:14. It is Pentecostal. And it is HOLY.
Anything less is a pseudo-church, neo-church, false church, false preachers and false prophets. And it is going to Hell.
"I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him," 2 Corinthians 11:2-4.
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty," 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
